You've reached the about me section of my website. Welcome! The Shark Cave is meant to be an amalgamation of all of my passions, in which the things I'm most passionate about, generally, are:

  • art
  • technology
  • music
  • gaming
  • animated shows
  • animals

My biggest dream is to make an indie game or something of that sort someday. Currently, I am learning coding/programming to achieve that. Hopefully I'll have a game, or many projects to show off someday!

Why I Made This Site

I wish not repeat was has been said so many times on neocities and this website. But at the same time, it's kind of obvious; most of us are tired of social media. Yet, the internet has cemented itself into society with a vital function: the internet is the quickest bridge to like-minded people, especially for those in isolation. More is that static websites typically don't contain all the hectic hostility that socmed/birdsite brings; at worst, a personal website can represent a sour user, rather than a sour collective.

Other than my woes with social media, I've always admired HTML/CSS, and have wanted to learn it. The personalization capabilities are endless. I've also heard of neocities here and there beforehand, trying and giving up on making a website back in quarantine (oof.) Sitting down and actually learning how to code my own site, though? It's been extremely fun and rewarding. What's a better creative outlet than my own space with unfiltered personal expression? What's a better replacement for rambling on twitter?

Info

Hey!

These windows are draggable and closable! In fact, you'll find it most convenient to close and drag them; there's a lot of windows here.

I used odditycommoddity's music player code for my Media Player Window, 7.css for the Window borders, this stack-overflow snippet for draggable windows, and overall layout inspo from sugarforbrains's about me page. The avatar image in the startmenu is drawn by Pantamonte, the base in the about me window was drawn by Cosmind, and the pixel pride flags were done by satoufeline.
